Show Your Work!

‘Say yes and you’ll figure it out afterwards. – Tina Fey

You can start even before you think you are ready. We are never truly ready. But you will figure it out as you go along. You have something that will help others. So, why not share it!

You do not have be an expert. But you just have to know something that you want to share with others. This will help others. And as you continue to share, you will gain new knowledge and refine the ways how you do things.

1.       Learn from the experts

Learn from others that have already achieved what you want to do. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. We can build on what others have done before us and can take it to another level.

2.       Focus on the process

We learn throughout the process of creating something new be it peace of art or writing to name but a few. Sometimes we can focus on perfection aiming for our work to be flawless in our eyes, which could stop us from having a courage to take a leap of faith and share it with the world.

3.       Share what you know

You can help others. Even if you are new to what you do, there is something valuable that you know, which can help others. That is why sharing your knowledge and your work with the world is so important.

4.       Find your support team

When you focus on a particular work, there will already be others in the field that can help you on your journey. Take time to get to know them and learn from their experiences.

5.       Be willing to deal with criticism

Not everyone will like your work. You may hear suggestions from people that support you how you can improve. But you can also receive criticism from those that do not support your work. You need to be able to focus on what is important and do not let criticism stop you from following your dreams.

6.       Monetise your work

Do not be afraid to sell your work and your services. You have worked hard to achieve what you have done; it can help others and it is OK to sell it.

7.       Keep working

Our creative pursuits are constant work in progress. We need to keep going, keep learning and improving.
